What happens during LuckyBearWeekend?
Now in its fifth year,
LuckyBearWeekend attracts Bears and Non-Bears alike to enjoy Las Vegas fun in the
company of likeminded fellow Bears:
it's a free-flowing weekend, where everyone does what they like best in this
city of unlimited choices;
Casino-hopping for the gamblers,
Shopping expeditions to
Bass Pro/Outdoor World for the latest
in flannel wear or your
favorite "toy" store (which "toy"
store were YOU thinking of... <EG>..),
Exploration trips to Hoover Dam (or that new horseshoe-shaped
Grand Canyon outlook,
maybe?), Enjoying one of the many Shows (Bears going for "Bette",
perhaps?),
Drink a Beer and eat a BIG German Bratwurst (you know who you are..) at the
original Hofbräuhaus Oktoberfest... all this and so much more...
How did this event start?
Six years ago, Mr. LuckyBear
(aka Michael), happened to stay in Vegas at the newest, all gay clothing
optional Blue Moon Resort.
"What a great place for a weekend of fun among Bears!" and the idea turned into
reality shortly after that. The Hotel is reserved exclusively for this
event, and reservations are coordinated ONLY through this website.
Is this some kind of benefit or
fundraiser?
Not at all. It's more of a
"fund-loser" :). The organization is not done by an event planner or "for
profit" organization, but by one person only... (Say Hi to Michael - "LkyBehr"
on Bear411 and other sites).
LuckyBearWeekend can be defined as a fun
event among like-minded guys... No beauty contest, no fundraising...
The local Bear Club, the BlackJackBears, are "in the loop" on this event - but
have opted not to participate, in favor of their (now defunct?)own event in the Spring - but there
are plenty of
local cubs, bears and their hunters hanging around the host hotel and around the
bars... LuckyBearWeekend seems to bring them all out at once...
Can I stay at my favorite Casino instead?
The great thing about Vegas, is that there
are MANY lodging options to choose from.
You don't have to stay at the Host Hotel to enjoy LuckyBearWeekend;
if you prefer, you can enjoy your favorite Casino, yet still be part of this fun
weekend.
If you stay elsewhere, you can access the Blue Moon's public areas by getting a LuckyBearWeekend
All-Access Pass ($40, available starting Saturday morning, October 4th).
Are there any event tickets to buy in
addition to the Hotel Room?
Not at all... LuckyBearWeekend is just that, a "Bear-designated destination weekend" in Sin
City.
All activities are "a la carte", meaning you pay as you go. If you are a Host
Hotel Guest, that's all there is to the weekend; just reserve a room and you're
in!
Is it true, FREE BEER all weekend long?
Yeah, right :) ... but there is a Complimentary Welcome Keg on Friday evening to
get the party started...
Is there food available?
On Friday, a light selection of sandwiches etc. will make it easier to
feed your travel-hunger.
Saturday: BBQ Pool Party - need we say more?
And on Sunday, we get to enjoy the now traditional and very popular "Blue Moon
BBQ Sunday by the Pool"
What are all those "extra" events listed?
Dances, Beer busts
and other parties are happening that weekend for you to enjoy... or not... it's
up to you!
That's what's so great about LuckyBearWeekend - you pick and choose
from variety of available activities, meet up with other fun bears by the pool and
go spend some time with your newfound friends...
